Natuurmonumenten is the new owner of the gardens and the forest. They will manage it while paying attention to the beautiful nature area and taking care of the special cultural history and the possibilities for recreation. In this way, accessibility is guaranteed.
The aim of Natuurmonumenten is to improve the quality of life in the Netherlands by preserving nature, landscape and cultural history.
The management and maintenance is very expensive and Natuurmonumenten also seeks support. For example, from volunteers who participate in the daily management, income generated from events and financial support in the case of repair activities. It is our ambition to improve the management during the coming years. Then the restoration of the gardens – largely according to the original design of J. G. Michael ( 1738 -1800) – will follow.
